About

ffwhat.ai turns plain-English media manipulation requests into FFmpeg commands. It's built for creators who know what they want done but would rather not memorize the flag soup.

Why this site exists

FFmpeg is the open-source backbone of nearly every video workflow on the planet — maintained by a small team for decades — yet most creators reach for paid tools because the CLI is intimidating. This site exists to lower that barrier: the more people who can use FFmpeg easily, the more visibility and funding flow back to a project the entire internet quietly depends on.

How you can help

The most impactful thing you can do is donate directly to FFmpeg. They do the actual work, and they need it more than we do.
